Olson Engage Tops Global Creative Index's North America "Pound for Pound" Ranking

Agency rates tops in North America, ninth globally for "creative excellence"

CHICAGO – On a “pound for pound” basis, Olson Engage is the most creative public-relations agency in North America and among the top performers in the world, according to the Holmes Report’s Global Creative Index, an annual ranking of creative excellence in public relations.

Now in its sixth year, the Global Creative Index tracks the performance of agencies and campaigns across major PR and marketing awards shows. Because the overall rankings are dominated by global networks due to their volume of awards, the Holmes Report began measuring the results on a per-employee basis, in order to find the strongest “pound for pound" agencies.

And, by that measure, Olson Engage thrived. In 2018, the ICF-owned agency was the top-scoring agency in North America, and it rated No. 9 globally. That marks the third straight year the agency made the global list, ranking No. 12 in 2017 and No. 7 in 2016. Olson Engage was one of only two U.S. firms to make the “pound for pound” list in each of those years.

The ranking comes on the heels of a remarkable 2018 recognition run that saw Olson Engage win PR Week’s Outstanding Midsize Agency and the Holmes Report’s Consumer Agency of the Year and Specialist Agency of the Year awards. Its campaigns won more than 30 national and global honors, including Cannes Lions, One Show awards, PR Week Awards, SABRE Awards, Shorty Awards and Effie Awards.
